Welcome to the 2026 BACARDI CUP

The Bacardi Cup traces its history back to 1927, when the Bacardi family first hosted a regatta for the then brand-new Star boats right in front of their factory in Havana, Cuba. From that inaugural edition, which drew North America’s finest sailors vying for the trophy, the quest for victory has always been intense. Since 1962, the Bacardi Cup has been hosted in Miami on Biscayne Bay, evolving into one of the most prestigious sailing events in the world and attracting the sport’s biggest names. The bond between the Bacardi Cup and the International Star Class Yacht Racing Association (ISCYRA) remains deep and enduring, highlighted each year by the Class Board Meeting held in Miami. Camaraderie and world-class competition are at the heart of the Bacardi Cup, ensuring that the very best sailors continue to line up on the start line and that fans remain captivated by the drama on the racecourse. The Bacardi family and the iconic Bacardi Rum brand, steadfast patrons since 1927, will continue their active partnership in 2025 and beyond.

Today, the Bacardi Cup forms the centerpiece of the Bacardi Cup Invitational Regatta, which welcomes additional fleets alongside the Stars, including the J/70, Melges 24, Viper 640, VX One, and Snipe Classes. While these fleets do not contest the Bacardi Cup—reserved solely for the Star Class—they enjoy their own championship titles and prizes, as well as a week of exhilarating racing and vibrant social events hosted at Coral Reef Yacht Club in Miami.

The 99th edition of the Bacardi Cup will take place from March 2–7, 2026, at Coral Reef Yacht Club, Biscayne Bay Yacht Club, Shake-A-Leg Miami, and the United States Sailing Center. The event is dedicated to Tito Bacardi, with his memory honored by participants, the sailing community, and the Bacardi family.

Looking ahead, the 100th edition of the Bacardi Cup is scheduled for March 8–13, 2027, continuing the tradition of excellence, passion, and celebration on Biscayne Bay.
